In the single player campaign, which takes place after the movie that is being released by Disney later this month, you are Ensign Jim Hawkins. The tutorial gives you two choices, a basic or advanced training, in order to learn the mechanics of the game. There is also a multi-player version, which can be played on LAN or over the internet. Historical maps have set parameters, while open maps allow you to choose fleet size and victory points. You can choose from historical or open maps. You can start out with the single player campaign, which takes you through a rather fun storyline, or hop right into a single player skirmish, which pits you in a battle against computer generated opponents. There are several methods of play available. If you have a modicum of patience and are in the market for an action/strategy game, this may just the one you're looking for. The graphics and sound are both well done and the storyline is engaging. Although the game has a few flaws, it is actually pretty entertaining. As Jim Hawkins, you will battle pirates and new enemies, see dragons and nebulae and navigate through asteroid fields and distant space. Disney's Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon, developed by Barking Dog Studios who brought us Homeworld: Cataclysm, is a hybrid of strategy and action gaming.
